My Top Ten Project
Killers
What could go wrong during production
How are you going to avoid this issue? What’s your
back up plan?
InDesign / Photoshop Crashing
Keep saving work every 5 minutes or saving multiple copies
of a certain document.
Model not turning up to photo shoot because busy/ other
reason
Ensure i have a trustworthy volunteer and book a time
where my model is available.
Photos not turning out right or forgetting a certain photo
I was planning to take
Plan my specific photos I’m going to take in detail, I
will also make a document explaining the exact shots I want to take. This
will stop me forgetting how I want the pictures to turn out.
Photoshop skills not being up to scratch so production
levels may not be very good
Watch tutorials and learn how to do specific skills on
Photoshop and InDesign.
Get distracted and not complete work on the specific
deadline
Be more organised, this could be done by ensuring that I
set reminders to complete certain work as soon as I get given it.
Equipment failure (no battery in cameras etc.)
Ensure the camera you use is fully charged, if it does
break, or is faulty, then I will ensure that I have another camera ready to
be used.
Vital files or fonts being deleted
Back up files to a separate hard drive or disk or go to
the IT technician to get back the deleted files.
Fonts not being installed to the right drive
Make sure you have a folder on your user disk space where
to store fronts just encase.
Breaking a constraint set by the press complaints
commission
I will avoid this by ensuring that I know all of the
possible constraints that I could break whilst writing my articles.
Not enough memory on the camera to store photos taken
Put the SD card into the computer and delete all the
photos from previous shoots. This will give me sufficient memory for the
photos from the shoot.
